LED Light Treatment

LED light therapy is a facial treatment that uses different wave lengths of light to penetrate the skin at varying depths. It can address a range of skin concerns such as acne, wrinkles and hyper pigmentation.

LED stands for “light-emitting diode” The wave lengths from the light stimulate the skin cells and can results in multiple benefits such as promoting collagen products, reducing inflammation and improving skin texture and tone.

There are several different colours of LED light therapy including blue, red, green and infrared .The light will be chosen depending on the individual skin needs .

Safety & Precautions

The best way to use LED is to combine it with other treatments This will make LED more effective than using it alone. Some treatments you can combine it with are below:

Skin needling very effective when combined with LED the results of microneedling can be enhanced and can reduce inflammation and redness after the treatment.

Peels can be used to target multiple different concerns and when combined with LED it can encourage the peeling process and provide better results as well as reduce  red skin after the treatment.

Pre-Treatment Care

Although LED Light Therapy is noninvasive and generally considered safe for everyone there are certain medical conditions and medication that can make your skin more sensitive to light which means this treatment wouldn't be suitable

Anyone undergoing steroid treatment or currently using anti-inflammatory medication should not undergo LED Light Therapy. Anti-inflammatory medications cancel out the accelerated cell activity that LED light triggers, negating any therapeutic benefit of the therapy. The best is to wait at least 7 days before using LED therapy.

Post-Treatment Care

Apply sunscreen

Avoid sun exposure for 48 hours

Keep skin hydrated with moisturiser

LED treatment can be 3 times a week
