Dermaplaning

Dermaplaning is a gentle exfoliation method that removes the outer layer of dead skin and vellus hair (peach fuzz) to reveal smooth, radiant skin. Perfect alone or in combination with other treatments, dermaplaning increases the effectiveness of skin care products and treatments by allowing for deeper penetration into the skin.

Your skin therapist will cleanse your skin and a barrier oil will be applied. The blade is then gently scraped across the skin removing the dead skin cells and build up.

Derma planning is great for those suffering from dull, dry and dehydrated skin or those wishing to reduce ‘peach fuzz’. It is suitable for most skin types.

Individuals with inflamed or irritated skin, sunburn or active/cystic acne should avoid dermaplaning until such time that their skin is clear or no longer active.

Derma planning is a safe, low risk treatment, however, you can expect redness after treatment. This will subside within a few hours for most people. On the rare occasion, some individuals, particularly those new to exfoliation, may experience a mild break out of whiteheads. These will subside on their own within a few days.

Pre-Treatment Care

Call the salon if you develop a cold sore, acne, open lesions in the area being treated, or experience any type of illness before your treatment.

Avoid sun exposure for at least a week before

48 Hours before: Stop all actives and exfoliants

Post-Treatment care

Don't use any other exfoliating products for about three days after your appointment.

You should avoid touching, rubbing, or picking your skin, which can slow the healing process.

Don’t use products with glycolic acid, retinol, benzoyl peroxide, or topical acne treatments for 24-48 hours.

With repeated sessions, you can combat the appearance of ageing, wrinkles, pores and increase the effectiveness of topical skincare

Dermplaning  can be done every 3-4 weeks
